As a leading provider of information, Reed Elsevier is committed to reducing its environmental impacts.
As such we are a member of the EAG (Environmental Action Group), a sector based approach formed by The Publishers Association and The Booksellers Association that aims to spread awareness and make improvements in the environmental impact of publishing and bookselling. The group has agreed upon a sector target of a 10% reduction in C02 emissions from 2006 by 2015 and shares good practice on initiatives around reporting, plastic bag use and supply chain issues such as sustainable paper and certification.
Reed Elsevier is also involved with the Publishers Green Network (PGN), which works collaboratively with The EAG at a grass roots level, engaging with employees in publishing companies who want to make a difference.
